‘Pictures of mountains are like pictures of sunsets’
Describing the experience of being surrounded by mountains seems trivial and no picture does the contrasting scale between human and mountain any justice. It is impossible to convey the smell on your hands after climbing on rock heated by the sun for millions of years.
Martha Hjorth Jessen (1983, born in Denmark) challenges the viewer with her works, which are wondrous hybrids of shape, material and perception.
